Brief Report and Photos from the 2005 Annual Dinner and Dance

at Southampton University.

After a great dinner at the Southampton university Staff Social Club, this year's award ceremony started with the Golden Fin (best novice), which was awarded to Louise.  The Barrier trophy (person who has contributed the most to the club) was jointly awarded to James F and Mark B, in part for both becoming instructors.  The chairman's award (assistance to the chairman) was awarded to Ray R.   This year's Black Fin (biggest cock up) was awarded to Nigel W, for managing to wind down his inflated SMB (although there were other possible reasons for him to receive the black fin!).

The raffle prizes were drawn by Marcus and Xanthe, and we were all surprised at the number and value of the raffles prizes that had been provided, by a number of suppliers including Dennis of Predator, O'Three, Tony Backhurst, Yo Yo, Andark, National Diving Centre, Cheptow, and many club members.

The evening went very well, and included a barrage of pee-shooter fire aimed at the evening's most prolific and accurate pee-shooter sniper, Mark B.
