Training with Eastleigh BSAC

Eastleigh BSAC offers a comprehensive training program to all members, including those who wish to learn to dive, divers trained by other agencies who wish to experience British diving, and those who wish to get back into the sport after a period of surface time. There are five internationally recognised BSAC diver grades, from the entry level Ocean Diver through to BSAC's highest grade, First Class Diver.

Once a member has joined our club we offer our training program at no additional cost, except for the cost of the student pack which are about £15, air fills and any dive boat or dive site entry fees. We are one of the only clubs in the area to have year round weekly access to a pool, we have our own training SCUBA equipment, two rigid inflatable boats and a host of experienced instructors who look forwards to training safe, proficient and confident divers.

Year round, we train our divers using the BSAC diver training program and can offer cross over to the BSAC diver training program from any recreational diver certification agency. More details of the BSAC cross over program can be found here.

Entry Level Training: BSAC Ocean Diver

For novice divers the journey starts with the BSAC Ocean Diver course. Delivered by Nationally Qualified BSAC instructors, our training will develop all the skills necessary for you to dive safely to 20 meters accompanied by a more experienced diver. The course comprises 7 theory sessions teaching novice divers about the equipment they will be using, developing their knowledge about the underwater world and safe diving practices. Intertwined with this are sheltered water sessions in the swimming pool that teach the basic skills all divers use throughout their diving careers with lots of opportunity for you to practice and build your confidence. BSAC Diving skills are taught progressively; Each new experience is built upon, step-by-step, progressing at the pace that's right for you... and when you are ready to progress we go diving! Having demonstrated the required level of skills performance, completed a minimum of 5 open water dives and 120 minutes underwater divers are awarded the BSAC Ocean Diver qualification which is recognised internationally.
